Yesterday, Stormy Daniels’ lawyer Michael Avenatti made an interesting suggestion in an interview with MSNBC host Craig Melvin when he stated he believed Donald Trump’s voice was on the tapes recorded by the president’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen. If that didn’t raise enough eyebrows right then and there, Avenatti is only doubling down today.
This morning, Avenatti stated that he is now certain those tapes have Trump’s voice on them.
He announced on Twitter:
“I know for a fact that at least one, & likely many, of the #TrumpTapes contain Mr. Trump’s voice. I know this from the work that we have done and through the assistance of true patriots. If I am wrong, Mr. Cohen and his atty should prove it. They can’t and won’t. #ReleaseTheTapes.”
In Avenatti’s statements yesterday, he said the tapes Cohen had recorded contained “inappropriate” conversations.
He told CNN’s, Jake Tapper:
“I know for a fact that one or more of these conversations do describe things that are inappropriate. Our understanding is there are countless hours of recordings of conversations between Michael Cohen and others. The conversations include conversations with Mr. Trump.”
We can only imagine what kind of dirt is on these tapes, since Avenatti revealed Cohen’s lawyers said: “that there are audio recordings that Michael Cohen was taking for years.”
This is beyond horrible news for Cohen, who is already being investigated for several things including the $130,000 hush money payment he made to Daniels before the 2016 presidential election so that Trump’s affair with her wouldn’t get out.
Now that Trump’s voice is reportedly on these tapes, we can only imagine what kind of unethical conversations were taking place. Avenatti is aggressively calling for the release of the Cohen tapes, and this looks like it could be the end of Trump’s circus if that happens.
