With Donald Trump in office America has already witnessed how cold-hearted the right wing conservatives can be. Well after Wednesday evening’s showdown in Montana, we can now add violent to the list.
Republican Greg Gianforte was caught ‘body slamming’ a local reporter WWF style in Montana. Alicia Acuna of Fox News, witnessed it first hand detailed the attack. According to Acuna, her and her media team were preparing to cover a special election story on Gianforte and Democrat Rob Quist, who are running against each other to win a seat in the House of Representatives.
In her rundown, Acuna said she arrived early to set up for an interview with Gianforte at his campaign headquarters where a BBQ was also taking place. She also made small talk with the candidate.
During that conversation, another man — who we now know is Ben Jacobs of The Guardian — walked into the room with a voice recorder, put it up to Gianforte’s face and began asking if he had a response to the newly released Congressional Budget Office report on the American Health Care Act.
Acuna said that the reporter was advised to speak with someone else on that matter. However, the reporter wanted answers from the source. Acuna explained,
At that point, Gianforte grabbed Jacobs by the neck with both hands and slammed him into the ground behind him. Faith, Keith and I watched in disbelief as Gianforte then began punching the reporter. As Gianforte moved on top of Jacobs, he began yelling something to the effect of, “I’m sick and tired of this!
WOW! Did this man really just put his hands on the reporter? (View video below) Jacob, then took to Twitter to let everyone know saying “Greg Gianforte just body slammed me and broke my glasses.” The conservatives as always, went into attack mode giving excuses for why the beat-down was warranted. Excuse me… warranted? Smh
Even in Acuna’s report, she clarified that contrary to what Gianforte told police, she NEVER once saw the reporter get physical or return the aggression.
The reporter was doing his job, granted he may have been pushing for answers but that does NOT warrant a body slam and excessive punches to the face. Walk away, get him put out, or any other alternative. Nancy Pelosi put the whole incident in perspective perfectly, scolding Gianforte for his hot head actions.

Gianforte was given a citation for misdemeanor assault and will have to appear in court sometime before June 7. Even now, this may have just boosted Gianforte’s odds at winning especially with Trump supporters backing him. Seriously, this is now our America.
